The Grinder Network

Just a while ago, I heard that HVS was making The Grinder no longer a Wii exclusive. It's still coming out for the Wii, but it will also be made available for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Now currently, I only own a Wii (Getting a PS3 later this year) and I'm a huge Nintendo fan, so you're probably expecting me to get all butthurt and all. However, here's my honest opinion on the situation.

First off, I was disappointed by the decision to make The Grinder a multiplatform game, but I can understand that, since I will be buying the game regardless. I have huge hope for the game and with the news we've gotten recently, I'm phsyced for the game.

I also think that people who want this to remain a Wii exclusive are seriously overreacting about the situation, and this is coming from an former Nintendo fanboy. Here's an prime example of what I mean: http://boards.ign.com/nintendo_wii_lobby/b8270/189117120/p1

Read on the pages and you'll find many Wii fanboys that are really upset about the situation so much that I'm predicting that it'll be comparable to when Devil May Cry 4, Final Fantasy XIII (Exclusive to the PS3 in Japan), and Tales of Vesperia in terms of whining and complaining and I bet we'll even see a petition or two to make it an Wii exclusive. My suggestion for High Voltage Software is to tell them to be quite and accept the fact that it's an multiplatform game before this gets out of control.

The only thing that really sucks is that we have to wait one and a half year before we can even touch the title, which is really disappointing. Hopefully, it'll be worth the wait.

However, I do have one thing I want High Voltage Software to do. Please whatever you do, keep the PS3, 360, PC, and especially the Wii exactly the same experience or at least close as possible. The Conduit actually did an decent job in sales and I do not regret my buy on the game, you can make The Grinder even better, not to mention I'll be seventeen by the time your game comes out. You are an commited Wii supporter from my eyes, so please don't dumb down the Wii version like many other has. I can guaranteen you if you successfully keep the PS3, 360, Wii, and PC verision exactly the same, your fans will reward you greatly. I will support your game regardless of platforms, but I'm hoping to get it on the Wii because I know you care about the system, so don't let Wii owners down.

The Wii version will automatically be the best version because of the IR pointer,motion plus,and customized controls for the Wii. We better hope Wii HD comes out by then. But this game will get overshadowed on the Wii and that's what I hate the most. 

Oh man I can't agree with you anymore then right now. Overracting hit it directly where it needs to be explained. I know it is hard for everyone here and most people feeling like we have been betrayed and backstabbed.

Well yes it may be true but its still coming to the Wii which is the important thing. Smart move for better business and a greater size audience across the other consoles. You can hate me all you want but this game has so much potential to be wasted if it didn't sell well.

But I do agree with you. Its disappointing but at this point I'm excited like none other. This wil be a good game. TCon was a fun and enjoyable title. I stick to my word. As long as its a good game thats all I care about. I wil get this game day one!

I hope the Wii version ISN'T the same as the other console versions,but better! Its the only fair thing to do so that we Wii fans don't feel ripped off since this was supposed to be coming out on the Wii in the 1st place.

You do have a very good point. The Wii version willl be unique! I'm all for that man!:)

True,but think about this game being overshadowed on the Wii,having poor sales on the Wii compared to the other consoles,and fanboys bashing the Wii version... damn you HVS!

MAN YOU GOT ONE HECK OF AN IDEA! I never though about it that way. Hell it started on the Wii so why not use its as a building block. But yes the wii version will be awesome and definitely have its own unique feel. I am excited to see how it turns out. Again day one buy here!

Let's hope High Voltage Software reads this and respond. Then we'll finally see if it has affected their development with the Wii version negatively (Sounds unlikely, due to there commited Wii support and that they probably would rather use this as an leading platform.

All I can say is that the Wii HD better come out by then! 

The only thing with the motion control: what's possible on Wii will be fairly easy to replicate on PC, and the PC version will look better and all that. I agree that if they make all the versions the same, then this could be a great game. But I really hope they don't ruin the Wii version in favour of other ones.

Don't feel to bad at this point! It will pass. Just think now they have plenty of time to make a good game a great game. Disagree with me if you may but I'm still excited for this game!

The thing that we know, is that xbox and ps3 will most likely support more players local which pisses me off, cuz i guarantee you, people will see the wii verision supports 2 players, and the xbox verison supports 4 and will pick up the xbox verison instead

Well look at it this way at least we get offline support! I know its hard to think about but its all cool. Game is still going to be freaking sweet!

The only reason the conduit sold averagely is the reviews. I bet there were a bunch of people who wanted to see how the reviews were before they bought it.

I know what you are saying. But then why worry about the sales? No real point in doing so. I will get this game and I could care less about the sales. Simple point is you buy it or not. Now thats is on other platforms there a whole new window of opportunity! (I think?)

Please don't hate on HVS! They did what they need to. Its hard I know. I've had a freaking ache in my gut all night but you know what. I'm excited more then ever now. Only time will tell at this point! I'm just sitting back and enjoying the show.
